Barbara Pallat is the owner of Barbara Pallat Interiors located in Burr Ridge, Illinois, which has provided both residential and commercial interior design services for more than fifteen years. Although she principally serves clients in the Chicagoland area, her projects are widely scattered throughout the country.
She received her undergraduate education at Denver University and later graduated from Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago. Barbara is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is a Past President of the Illinois Chapter. She is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), and was a trainer of NCIDQ jurors for design qualification. She is also a registered designer with the State of Illinois
Barbara is President of the National Council of Interior Design Qualification Board of Directors for 2006. She serves on the Board of Interior Design Professionals of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, the Board of Governors of Harrington College of Design and on the Interior Design Advisory Boards at the Illinois Institute of Art and the College of DuPage.
She has been published in the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times and various local newspapers and periodicals. She is one of the Merchandise Mart's featured designers in the third edition of The Chicago Home Book.
She recently received the Illinois Chapter's Medalist Award and has received several Presidential and Distinguished Service awards from the Illinois Chapter of ASID, as well as the 1999 Louis S. Tregre Award for outstanding service to NCIDQ.
Her design skills are maintained by regularly attending continuing education classes and her work with NCIDQ.
